About the Journey

The Journey of Healing

The Journey of Healing is a first-of-its kind literary anthology showcasing the work of sexual abuse survivors. Submissions for the book came from many continents, from divergent cultures and ages, and from both men and women. The final selections of poems, essays and stories chosen for the book include fiction as well as autobiographical pieces. These resonant writings articulate both the pain and the hope that come from the process of enduring and surviving abuse. The anthology also features black and white photographs by one of the contributors. The voices in this book are unique, strong, aware, and wise. The contributors are a testament to the resiliency of the human spirit and to the power of the written word.

The Journey of Healing is published by Safer Society Press.

The anthology is a powerful read from cover to cover. I am deeply honored to have been selected to be a part of it. My fellow contributors have shared stories of amazing courage and the book reads as a testimony to the spirit of the inner child in each of us. Their voices are strong, their words honest. It is time for society to listen and the publishing of this book brings us one step closer to that goal.

It is a fine job by Marjorie Ryerson and all others directly involved in this publication. Thank you for all the hard work and time invested in this project.

It is a wonderful compilation of works from such strong survivors. It’s wonderful to know that there are people who are surviving, helping others, and taking care of business! :) Congratulations to all of my fellow authors…it’s been an honor to read your work.
